Well, here we go—putting this out into the internet for the first time. Five years ago, I took a leap and officially started my event planning business. What I didn’t expect? A global pandemic shutting down in-person events right as I was getting started. But somehow, despite all of that, I made it work. What started as a side hustle is now my full-time career. It still blows my mind how much this business has grown.
I am lucky to say, I truly love what I do. There’s nothing better than being onsite at an event and seeing everything come together—the months (or years) of planning, the details, the people actually experiencing what myself & my team created. Watching people connect, learn, and grow at events I helped bring to life? That’s the best part of the job.
Of course, running a business has taught me a lot—some lessons the hard way. Contracts? Non-negotiable. Leaning on experts? Essential. Burnout? Very real. And while not everyone you meet in business is meant to be a friend, relationships are everything in this industry. I wouldn’t be where I am without the amazing clients who trust me, some of whom have signed on through the end of the decade (which is WILD to say).
Looking ahead, I’m so excited for what’s next. More clients, more travel, and maybe even some new branches of the business (but I won’t spill the beans on that just yet). If these past five years have taught me anything, it’s that there’s always room to grow—and I’m just getting started.
To everyone who’s been part of this journey, thank you. I appreciate you more than you know. And to anyone who’s just finding me now—welcome! Can’t wait to see where the next five years take us.
P.S. I’ve got a lot more to share—everything from the ups and downs of running a business to behind-the-scenes event industry insights (plus some random thoughts along the way). If you’re into that, follow along on Instagram at @bibberomeetingsandevents or hop on my email list to stay in the loop!
